Summary
Join Ellevation Education as an Instructional Content Specialist to contribute to the development of a benchmark ELP assessment for grades 6–12. Collaborate with a team of experienced assessment authors, leveraging your editorial expertise and knowledge of ELP standards. You will play a key role in assessment design, item development, and shaping the student experience. This role requires 3–5 years of experience writing and editing high-quality ELP assessment content for K–12 students, with a focus on grades 6–12. The position offers a competitive salary ($80,000-$100,000) with a 10% annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits. Remote employees will travel approximately six times per year.
Requirements
- Have 3–5 years of experience writing and editing high-quality ELP assessment content for students in the K–12 space, with a focus on grades 6–12
- Have demonstrated success in developing high-quality, educational and assessment content aligned to language standards within a specified time frame
- Have a strong background in national and regionally specific EL language standards and frequently engage in new learning to stay up-to-date
- Have strong verbal communication skills and a willingness to contribute to collaborative work, delivering and receiving feedback well
- Have natural curiosity and an eagerness to learn from others
Responsibilities
- Work closely with other content specialists to develop Ellevation’s first benchmark ELP assessment
- Contribute to the assessment design and play a key role in the 6–12 blueprint and item development
- Collaborate with other members of our Education Solutions team and Assessment Product Teams to shape the student experience, content tooling development, and scoring operations
- Deliver research-based, high-quality content
- Contribute to the revision workflow of other content authors on the team
- Serve as subject matter experts within the product organization and at times, across the company
- Build background knowledge on Ellevation’s planned assessment solution, including internal documentation and processes
- Begin to learn about our customers and their regional segmentation and needs
- Develop rapport with key stakeholders and team members
- Contribute to the assessment design and authoring of a benchmark ELP assessment for grades 6–12
- Author assessment items including detailed art specifications in secondary grade bands
- Review and contribute to the quality of assessment items in primary grade bands
- Demonstrate expertise in authoring and revision workflows
- Collaborate closely with other content specialists, delivering exceptional content on time and at a quality that exceeds our customers’ expectations
- Drive delivery of assessment items
- Engage with stakeholders, including customers, on early feedback
- Heavily contribute to Ellevation becoming a market leader in the ELP benchmark space through consistent delivery of assessment items
