Join Mark43 as their first Instructional Designer and play a key role in developing and implementing their new Learning Management System (LMS). You will create engaging e-learning content, manage the LMS, collaborate with subject matter experts, and facilitate training sessions. This fully remote position offers opportunities for travel and the chance to contribute to a mission-critical software that supports first responders. You will design and develop engaging training materials for a diverse user base, ensuring content accuracy and relevance. The role requires expertise in e-learning software and LMS management, along with strong instructional design skills. Requirements
- Design and write engaging pedagogical sessions using instructional design best practices for adult learners (police officers, emergency responders, government employees) for a nation-wide and potentially global audience
- Create and edit innovative and engaging e-learning materials/media that can create a measurable learning impact in short timeframes among learners who may lack digital literacy
- Ability to work with subject matter experts to get up to speed quickly on our software suite. Knows what questions to ask to build effective learning experiences for our products
- Ability to conduct instructional research and assessment on learners and contexts to inform their learning, including (post-COVID) travel to user sites. Can handle themselves professionally in such situations
- Ensures implementation of sessions and monitors compliance
- Fluency with e-learning creation software such as Adobe Captivate
- Fluency with enterprise LMS software, including creating user profiles and assessing usage information to draw meaningful conclusions
Responsibilities
- Developing engaging and interactive e-learning content for Mark43βs diverse user base
- Managing the Mark43 LMS to track user adoption, course completion, and learning outcomes
- Maintaining and updating courses as new features are developed
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance
- Designing and implementing assessments to measure learning effectiveness and retention
- Creating multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and interactive simulations to enhance the learning experience
- Conducting instructional research and learner analysis to inform content development
- Facilitating virtual and in-person training sessions, webinars, and workshops
- Providing ongoing support and training to users to ensure successful adoption of the LMS
- Working towards a worthwhile mission with a team of friendly and intelligent coworkers
