Summary
Join Sand Cherry Associates as an experienced Instructional Designer to transform paper-based training materials into engaging digital eLearning content for the oil & gas refinery industry. You will conduct training needs assessments, design curriculum, develop eLearning materials, and implement training assessments. This executive-facing role demands strong instructional design expertise and collaboration with various teams. The position is remote, primarily focusing on CST hours, with potential for travel. Success in this role requires advanced knowledge of assigned programs and strong communication skills. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to work CST hours.
Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in Business, Communications, Education, or related discipline
- Minimum of 4-5 years creating and delivering content in a highly technical environment
- Experience with developing and administering safety, compliance, and equipment eLearning programs
- Knowledge and experience working with oil and gas refineries is a must
- Experience building digital training assets using adult learning principles and methodologies
- Experience developing, conducting and reporting results of a training needs assessment
- Knowledge of the curriculum development process including analysis, instructional design, developing outlines, learning objectives, materials, and assessments
- Ability to communicate complex training content to project stakeholders, answer questions, and ensure understanding
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, including strong knowledge of PowerPoint and any learning tool platforms needed
- Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to work CST hours
Responsibilities
- Conduct training needs assessments and gather requirements from internal teams
- Develop learning objectives that describe desired training objectives
- Design training curriculum and learning plans to ensure performance objectives are met
- Develop eLearning training materials for digital/web-based platforms
- Build materials from scratch and/or utilize vendor content as applicable
- Assess training needs remotely, and deliver training artifacts as requested
- Develop and implement training assessments to ensure knowledge and skill retention, user experience, engagement and adoption
- Assist in developing any reference materials, KPIs, dashboards and reporting
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and digital/web-based learning platforms
- Participate with post training analysis, feedback and any necessary calibrations and edits
- Build and maintain knowledge of instructional design and training best practices
- Participate in project team meetings and represent and lead the content development workstreams. Report progress, status, roadblocks, budget, resource needs and the like
Preferred Qualifications
Coaching or Training certification is helpful
