Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Have 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the Healthcare Industry as it relates to Insurance coverage and benefits verification
  • Be proficient in alpha/numeric data entry
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, or Google applications and have general working knowledge of the Internet for business use
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-past, deadline driven environment including good multitasking skills
  • Have the ability to define problems, collect data, validate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Have the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance coverage to ensure necessary procedures are covered by an individualโ€™s provider
  • Enter data accurately, including patient benefit information in multiple systems and verify that existing information is accurate
  • Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information, establishing entry priorities
  • Process patient and insurance source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies, discrepancies and specific details
  • Resolve discrepancies by using standard procedures or escalating incomplete documents
  • Double check work and assure all data is in the case correctly
  • Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
  • Verify entered customer and insurance data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
