Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in investment banking, equity research, or strategic finance
  • Strong familiarity with financial modeling and valuation
  • Bias-to-action and hands-on experience delivering business results. You’re eager to roll your sleeves up and make an impact
  • Self-motivated with a history of taking on expanding roles
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally with Strategic Finance, FP&A, Legal, Comms, and Marketing teams
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to investors and analysts
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Flexibility to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze information (business and financial) that will inform our narrative to investors and analysts
  • Support all aspects of the corporate development M&A and investment deal processes, including sourcing, qualification, financial analyses and modeling, due diligence, and closing and integration planning activities
  • Collaborate with Strategic Finance, FP&A, Legal, Comms, and Marketing to gather information related to quarterly financial performance and ensure accuracy of figures and alignment of external messaging
  • Monitor and internally summarize industry trends and peers’ commentary and financial results by continuously tracking sell-side research, financial news, and transcripts
  • Establish a robust understanding of industry trends, market participants, and competitive dynamics in the physical operations and the broader enterprise software markets
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the technology sector (e.g., SaaS, AI, cloud computing)
  • Prior M&A transaction experience
