Summary
Join Very Good Ventures as an IT Specialist and partner with the People Operations Manager and external IT consultants to manage IT processes and administration. You will ensure employees have access to necessary systems and resources, maintain IT policy documentation, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement. Key responsibilities include IT security policy compliance, documentation and change management, provisioning and deprovisioning of tools and systems, hardware lifecycle management, and help desk support. You will need 2-4 years of experience in IT coordination, support, or systems administration, along with strong customer service skills and experience managing Mac devices. Google Workspace Admin experience is required. Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of expertise in IT coordination, IT support, or systems administration (preferably at a tech company)
- Previous experience working in Help Desk
- Strong internal customer service skills and enjoy working with others
- Strong knowledge of IT security best practices, tools, and protocols
- Exposure to basic cybersecurity concepts like least privilege access and endpoint protection
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure management, specifically SAAS/cloud-based systems
- Prior experience managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and familiarity around best practices for onboarding and offboarding users
- Experience with change management and documentation best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize and organize your time to get things done often under deadlines

- Google Workspace Admin experience is required

Responsibilities
- Ensure all IT systems and activities are in strict adherence to established IT security policies and best practices. Regularly review and enforce security protocols to protect the organization from vulnerabilities
- Maintain and update accurate documentation related to change management processes. Track and document system changes, updates, and incidents to ensure transparency, compliance, and audit readiness
- Manage the provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts, software tools, and systems. Ensure timely access for new employees and secure removal of access when employees leave or change roles
- Manage our inventory of devices and ensure that laptops and other IT-related hardware are deployed to the team prior to their start date and securely retired at the end of their lifespan
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements across IT systems and workflows. Work with cross-functional teams to implement automation and best practices that streamline IT operations
- Oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including cloud systems, hardware, and software. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade systems as necessary
- Provide support, ensure system reliability, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for employees, and serve as the key point of contact for IT-related inquiries
- Regularly monitor IT systems to ensure proper functionality, performance, and security. Proactively address potential issues before they impact operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing and troubleshooting a fleet of Mac devices is strongly preferred
- Startup experience is a plus
- Experience working for a company actively involved in achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance
- Interest in emerging AI tools and their use as a force multiplier in the business
- Ability to hook up company data into data lakes and AI tools
