Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- 0-2 years of accounting experience, with preference given to candidates having experience in federal government contracting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and preferred familiarity with federal financial regulations and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and training, experience, or understanding of general accounting software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
- Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be willing to undergo the government-issued background investigation process
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal government contracting requirements
- Perform routine accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
- Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment processing
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including assisting with audits and budget preparation
- Help maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Stay informed of updates and changes in accounting standards, federal regulations, and industry best practices
