Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience, with preference given to candidates having experience in federal government contracting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and preferred familiarity with federal financial regulations and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and training, experience, or understanding with general accounting software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
  • Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be U.S. Citizens willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal government contracting requirements
  • Perform routine accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment processing
  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including assisting with audits and budget preparation
  • Help maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Stay informed of updates and changes in accounting standards, federal regulations, and industry best practices
  • All other duties as assigned
