Junior DevOps Engineer

Summary

Join TechBiz Global, a German-based global partner, as a Junior DevOps Engineer. You will play a key role in deploying and maintaining infrastructure solutions, focusing on Kubernetes-based environments. This position involves collaborating with the delivery team, managing on-premise deployments, and supporting the migration from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes. You will design and implement on-premise Kubernetes deployments, perform application deployments, manage infrastructure maintenance, and conduct security risk assessments. Requirements

• Strong expertise in Linux systems (preferably Debian-based) and networking (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, connectivity troubleshooting)
• Hands-on experience with containerization solutions (e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools
• Familiarity with web and application services, including Elasticsearch, Nginx (or Caddy), and remote filesystems (NFS, CIFS, etc.)
• Solid understanding of security concepts and SSL certificate management
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and customers
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to dynamic requirements

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the delivery team to define and verify customer infrastructure requirements during project initialization or major changes
• Guide customers on deployment models, security requirements, and infrastructure configurations
• Support existing SaaS environment in Azure
• Design and implement on-premise Kubernetes deployments using tools like k3s, with the flexibility to make architectural decisions
• Perform initial application deployments, including smoke testing, LDAP/SAML/OAuth integrations, SMTP configuration, reverse proxy setups, and SSL certificate installation
• Verify connectivity, shared storage access, and VPN configurations for on-premise environments
• Manage updates for existing deployments, including software upgrades and SSL certificate renewals
• Serve as a technical point of contact during audits, infrastructure changes, or documentation requests
• Support the ongoing migration of our architecture from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes, including redesigning and optimizing deployments for Kubernetes-based environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the migration process to ensure smooth transitions
• Conduct security risk assessments and audits, identifying potential vulnerabilities and working with relevant teams to prioritize and remediate findings
• Maintain and update compliance and security documentation (e.g., deployment diagrams, network flows, security controls) and provide guidance to customers on secure infrastructure practices
