Summary

Join our small, friendly in-house development team as a junior to mid-level developer! Work on diverse internal projects, primarily focusing on a mid-sized internal PHP web application. This role offers the chance to learn a bespoke internal solution and contribute to its direction. We collaborate closely with IT on other in-house DevOps solutions. The position is predominantly remote with occasional London office meetups. Gain experience with PHP, MySQL, CodeIgniter4, and various other technologies. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in PHP and familiar with modern frameworks such as Laravel or Codeigniter4
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • An understanding of databases (for example MySQL)
  • Familiarity with version control using GIT
  • Self-motivated and keen to learn
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously

Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on development of a bespoke PHP/MySQL application based on CodeIgniter4
  • Develop, maintain and update a variety of other projects outside of traditional web applications
  • Identify and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct exploratory work on proposed integrations to create specifications
  • Participate in project management and stakeholder calls

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating external web services (SOAP, REST)
  • Interest in modern native JS beyond the usual frameworks
  • Familiarity of Azure tooling (PowerShell/Fabric/PowerBi)
  • Basic Windows WSL2/Linux administration
  • An understanding of unit testing with PHP Unit
