Language Conversation Partner

Summary

Join the Educational Equality Institute's (TEEI) Language Connect for Ukraine program as a volunteer conversation partner. This flexible, remote role allows you to help Ukrainian refugees improve their English through casual one-on-one video conversations. We are seeking native or fluent English speakers with conversational skills, a flexible schedule, and comfort with video calling. Cultural sensitivity is helpful but not required. This volunteer position requires no teaching experience; only patience, friendliness, and a willingness to help. The program offers complete flexibility, a meaningful cultural exchange, direct humanitarian impact, and the opportunity to connect with a global community.

Requirements

• Native or Fluent English Speaker - any accent or dialect welcome
• Conversational Skills - friendly, patient, and encouraging communication style
• Flexible Schedule - you control when and how often you're available
• Video Comfort - comfortable with video calling platforms
• This is a volunteer position

Responsibilities

• Engage in natural English conversations with Ukrainian learners through our digital platform
• Sessions focus on: Everyday Conversation Practice - help build confidence in spoken English
• Pronunciation Support - gentle corrections and speaking tips
• Real-World Language Use - practical English for work, daily life, and social situations
• Cultural Exchange - share insights about English-speaking cultures
