Lead Product Designer - Growth

Paired
Summary
Join Paired, the leading couples app, as their Lead Product Designer and contribute to the growth of a product used by millions. This hands-on role requires a strategic approach, balancing visionary thinking with detailed execution. You will collaborate with various teams to design growth initiatives, focusing on user acquisition, activation, and monetization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product design, particularly with mobile and web applications, and a proven ability to create engaging and effective user experiences. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from initial concept to post-launch iteration, and will use data and research to inform your decisions. Paired offers a remote-first work environment with opportunities for in-person collaboration and a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in product design with a strong track record of leading high-impact initiatives (we recognise that titles vary, what really matters is your experience scope to act a true expert in our team)
- Deep expertise in designing consumer-facing mobile and web products, ideally subscription-based, in related verticals such as femtech, health & wellness, education, or self-improvement
- Strong portfolio with 2+ in-depth case studies showcasing strategic problem-solving, design process, and clear results
- Strategic yet hands-on: comfortable shaping vision while diving deep into detailed execution to ensure craft excellence, momentum, and impact
- Expert in interaction design, with a refined grasp of micro-interactions and motion that elevate usability and create delightful, polished experiences
- Expert in Figma and prototyping tools, with strong visual, interaction, and systems thinking skills
- Strong knowledge of UX/UI best practices, including information architecture, navigation, responsive design, accessibility (A11Y), and responsive design patterns
- Proven track records of using data and user research to understand user needs, and gather insights to justify and support design decisions
- Brings a collaborative mindset and helps elevate the quality of team output through thoughtful feedback and design critique
- Action-oriented in ambiguity: Thrive in undefined spaces, using exploration, prototyping, and iteration to bring clarity and forward progress
- Clarity and influence in communication: Able to distill complex problems into clear, compelling narratives that align teams and drive confident decision-making
- Must reside in one of the countries we hire from (UK, DE, ES, IE, DK, NL) and have the legal right to work there (we cannot offer visa sponsorship)
Responsibilities
- Bridge business goals and user needs: Translate business-driven requirements into solutions that are user-centred, emotionally resonant, and high-performing
- Own end-to-end design for mobile and web: from insight-driven discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity execution and post-launch iteration
- Drive both 0–1 and evolution of proven initiatives: you’ll identify and lead brand-new growth opportunities (e.g., organic acquisition) while also pushing established flows (like free trials or paywalls) beyond their current ceiling. Your work won’t be about laying basic foundations but about amplifying what’s working and inventing what’s next
- Design emotionally resonant experiences that elevate how couples perceive Paired’s value by crafting journeys that feel human, delightful, and deeply aligned with our mission while driving measurable impact and accelerating acquisition and revenue
- Prototype with a high level of fidelity, creating experiences that feel realistic and enable fast, informed testing
- Raise the design bar: provide thoughtful critique, model high standards of execution and rationale, and mentor peers informally through feedback and craft leadership
- Champion and build design systems at scale : lead the evolution of our design system by architecting complex component structures, leveraging Figma’s most advanced features (variables, tokens, auto-layout automation), and ensuring scalable, systematic consistency across every touchpoint
- Marry data with intuition : blend qualitative research, quantitative insights, and strong product instincts to inform design decisions and drive measurable impact
- Influence beyond your squad : collaborate across teams, facilitate design alignment, and elevate product-wide design thinking
Benefits
- Yearly salary of £90K–£95K / €85K–€105K (based on experience and location)
- Significant stock options

- 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays
- Fully remote, with optional access to our London office or a subsidised co-working space
- Three in-person events per year across Europe: two focused coworking weeks and one team-building retreat
- Comprehensive health insurance
- 3 months paid maternity leave and 1 month paid paternity leave (including same-sex and adoptive parents), with local enhancements where applicable
- Paired Premium for you and your partner to stay in love
- The opportunity to help millions of people improve their relationships
