Summary

Join Varo, a digital bank, as a Lead Product Manager to spearhead the strategy and execution of consumer lending products. You will own the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to launch and optimization. Collaborate with engineering, credit risk, and marketing teams to create innovative digital lending experiences. Responsibilities include defining product strategy, leading development, leveraging customer insights, ensuring performance and compliance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in product management, particularly within consumer lending or fintech. A strong analytical background and excellent communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in consumer lending or FinTech
  • Proven success in launching and growing digital lending products
  • Deep understanding of the consumer lending lifecycle, credit risk principles, and risk analytics
  • Experience working with engineering and data teams in an agile environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Own Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and champion the strategy and roadmap for key consumer lending products (e.g., Personal Loans, Lines of Credit), aligning with company goals and risk appetite
  • Drive Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from requirements gathering and prioritization to launch and post-launch optimization
  • Leverage Insights: Conduct market research and customer analysis to identify opportunities and inform product improvements
  • Ensure Performance & Compliance: Define KPIs, monitor product performance, and integrate robust risk management and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate Cross-functionally: Serve as the central point of contact for Engineering, Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure seamless product delivery
  • Foster Innovation: Identify new features, design experiments (A/B testing), and leverage technology to enhance underwriting and customer experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cash flow underwriting, alternative data, modern loan management systems, regulatory compliance (Reg Z, Reg E, UDAAP), and A/B testing
