Summary
Join the Veteranβs Justice Project of Manhattan Legal Services as a law student extern in 2025, starting in February. This part-time or remote position offers hands-on experience in various practice areas, including housing, social security, benefits, and consumer law. You will conduct client interviews, legal research, observe court proceedings, and engage in advocacy. The externship provides opportunities to learn new legal areas, gain practical experience, and contribute to public service for veterans. Work-study funding or school credit may be available. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

- Client intake, interviewing and outreach
- Legal research and writing
- Observation of court proceedings and/or administrative hearings
- Advocacy and representation with administrative agencies
