Summary

Join Active Minds as the Manager, Chapter Mobilization & Engagement, a remote, full-time position focusing on supporting and growing the organization's chapter network. You will provide direct support to chapters, manage a peer technical assistance team, and collaborate with various teams to enhance chapter engagement and advocacy. The role centers BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, particularly supporting high school chapters. You will also contribute to program equity goals, track project progress, and build relationships with funders and partners. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Chapter Partnerships & Engagement and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • Understanding and experience in understanding the positive impacts of the power of mobilizing and engaging with youth and young adults
  • Demonstrated experience providing virtual support and leadership to student leadership bodies who are tasked with providing peer-led technical assistance
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of high school aged youth and the needs of K-12 school systems, with specific emphasis on high schools
  • Baseline knowledge of, or experience with, mental health as a field
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, inclusive of project management tools and dashboards (Asana, ClickUp, Taskray, Basecamp, Monday.com, Trello)
  • Experience planning and/or designing training programs centering youth and young adults in schools and communities
  • A collaborative approach and team-oriented style with the ability to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals
  • Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief

Responsibilities

  • Provide Activated and Mobilized chapters with the tools, resources, and technical assistance to collaborate with school and community partners and advance their advocacy from peer education to community, systems, and policy-level change
  • Manage the Peer Technical Assistance Team, composed of up to 10 chapter members, who directly support the nationwide network of chapters
  • Recruit, select, and provide training to participants in the Peer Technical Assistance Team
  • Manage the project budget and administer stipends to participants
  • Support chapters to recruit and retain members, with the goal of retaining at least 8,000 chapter members in our network annually
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communication and Operations teams to design effective communications for chapters, such as newsletter content, drip campaigns, resource hubs, and other delivery mechanisms
  • Manage and execute direct member communication on Slack
  • Manage the High School Chapter Model, collaborating with the K-12 Initiatives Team, to deliver training and technical assistance
  • Support high school advisors to help advance their chapter through pre-outlined steps of mobilization
  • Support high school advisors in guiding chapters toward mobilization milestones
  • Collaborate with School Mental Health Team leadership, the VP of Equity & Inclusion, and other key internal stakeholders to deliver and execute program equity goals
  • Ensure that materials are effectively disseminated across the chapter network to foster safe, inclusive spaces where participants of diverse identities feel seen, heard, engaged, and prioritized in meaningful ways within their communities
  • Support the Senior Manager, Chapter Partnerships & Engagement on collection of program, reach, impact, and roster information
  • Track and report progress of all projects and deliverables to the Active Minds team and funders as needed
  • Work collaboratively with Active Minds’ Measurement Team to measure outcomes of student-based and partner-funded projects and inform Active Minds’ future programming
  • In partnership with the Development Team, cultivate relationships with funders, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure that key deliverables and sponsorship-needs are met or exceeded
  • Maintain and track organized records of project details and communication in the organization-wide Constituent Relationship Management system, Salesforce, inclusive of adding youth/young adults to the appropriate project/campaign/opportunity
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across the School Mental Health Team and the organization
  • Ensure relevant strategic goals are met or exceeded on time
  • Represent Active Minds externally as needed at conferences, meetings, trainings, and other events, at the discretion of the Chief Program Officer and VP, School Mental Health
  • Participate in organization-wide miscellaneous duties as needed
