Join Common App as their Senior Vice President, Strategy & Business Development! This key leadership role involves developing and advancing Common App's growth strategy through strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and other high-impact initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, you will identify, source, and manage strategic opportunities. Collaboration across departments and with senior leadership is crucial. This position requires extensive experience in strategic alliances, business development, and M&A, along with a proven ability to lead complex transactions. Requirements
- Live in the United States
- 14+ years of experience in strategic alliances, business development, and/or mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
- 12+ years of senior executive leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams through complex transactions
- Experience within the postsecondary education ecosystem
- Strong executive presence and ability to engage with C-level stakeholders
- Deep expertise in M&A execution and transformational partnerships, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and deal structuring
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering results under tight deadlines
- Sound judgment and a high level of initiative, integrity, and strategic thinking, with a willingness to experiment and innovate
Responsibilities
- Develop and advance Common App’s growth strategy through strategic enterprise partnerships, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other high-impact initiatives
- Collaborate on establishing strategic priorities, foster a strong organizational culture, and drive successful execution of growth opportunities that align with Common App’s mission and Next Chapter vision
- Identify, source, and manage strategic opportunities from inception through completion
- Work collaboratively across departments, engaging key stakeholders on the Senior Leadership Team to develop and execute transactions that strengthen Common App’s impact in the education ecosystem
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Business Administration, or relevant field
