Manager, Engineering

Summary

Join HashiCorp's Platform Infrastructure team as an Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team of talented engineers. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of people management experience and a passion for operational maturity and developing software systems to orchestrate a multi-cloud environment. You will balance technical depth and people leadership, applying product and customer-centric practices to managed infrastructure. Responsibilities include driving maturity in infrastructure delivery and operations, delivering operational excellence, providing insights on resource consumption, supporting engineer career growth, and building partnerships across HashiCorp. The ideal candidate will have a product-minded approach, experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a passion for automation. This is a remote position.

Requirements

• You have a minimum of 2 years people management experience
• You have experience with Infrastructure or Platform or Cloud with Cloud Infrastructure experience being highly preferred
• You lead with empathy and compassion with a focus on career development
• You have successfully lead remote teams
• You have experience leading SW development teams or have prior PM experience

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for driving maturity throughout the delivery and operations of managed infrastructure
• Balance technical depth and people leadership, helping unblock the team while advocating for sustainable practices
• Apply product and customer-centric practices to managed infrastructure
• Deliver operational excellence as a feature
• Provide insights on infrastructure resource consumption and participate in cost-management efforts
• Support career growth and development for engineers on the team
• Build successful partnerships with various leaders and functions across HashiCorp

• A product-minded approach to delivering infrastructure and platforms
• Has solid experience working/leading teams that work with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Is passionate about automation; creating leverage through software development
• Has successfully created operational improvements to complex infrastructure/software
• Experience managing the full employee lifecycle
• You have led teams that delivered infrastructure/software at scale
