Manager, Engineering - Developer Platform

Summary

Join Airbnb's CI/CD team as a manager and lead the team in shaping the strategy of continuous integration and continuous deployment. Partner with and mentor engineers, prioritize projects, foster relationships with stakeholders, and address technical debt. This remote-eligible US-based role requires 2+ years of full-time management experience, supporting Staff+ engineers, and managing remote teams. Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a full-time manager
• Experience supporting and coaching Staff+ (ideally multiple) and Senior engineers
• Experience managing a remote/distributed team
• Familiarity with and interest in best practices for Dev Productivity and CI/CD

Responsibilities

• Prioritize projects across stakeholders and scope to deliver impact in both CI and CD
• Foster relationships with partner teams and stakeholders, as well as crafting working agreements
• Coach and mentor the team with empathy to do their best work while growing in their roles & responsibilities
• Partner with Staff and Sr. Staff engineers to assist them in aligning architecture trade-offs and designing strategy
• Create deliberate plans and opportunities to systematically address technical debt & quality
• Contribute to the broader organization’s culture and processes (with a “first team” mentality)
