Manager, Medical Economics

Summary

The Medical Economics Manager is a key member of the market operations team at Hopscotch Primary Care, responsible for data analysis, reporting, and identifying opportunities. The role requires a quantitative degree, 3-5 years of related work experience in a healthcare provider or insurance environment, and proficiency with various tools like Python, Excel, and Palantir Foundry.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Mathematics, Economics, Healthcare or other quantitative discipline preferred
• 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare provider or insurance environment required

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and monitoring of standard reporting packages for key performance indicators aimed at healthcare cost containment and optimization efforts
• Conduct independent ad hoc analysis to identify opportunities or troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate effectively across stakeholders from different Hopscotch teams
• Utilize Python, Palantir Foundry, Excel, and other tools to define, extract, validate, shape, and interpret data to meet business needs. Accountable for accuracy of work product
• Forecasts results for quality, medical benefits ratio, risk adjustment factor and value-based care payments (VBC)
• Produce VBC accruals and IBNR estimates for finance
• Review monthly payer claim and revenue data and VBC settlements for accuracy
• Supports care model initiative tracking, savings and ROI estimates, and KPI dashboards

Preferred Qualifications

• Desire and willingness to work across financial and clinical teams to build new analyses and ongoing reporting
• Preparing dashboards and presenting data using a data visualization tool preferred
• Strong knowledge of and experience working with healthcare data required
• Experience working with object oriented language (e.g. Python) and querying databases preferred (e.g. SQL)
• High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced proficiency in Excel required
• Experience with Palantir Foundry a plus
