Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 3-7 years of professional work experience, ideally in development roles within Jewish or secular nonprofits, higher education, or mission-driven organizations. Experience with Hillel is a plus
  • Proven experience in preparing donor engagement marketing materials (pitch decks, presentations, written content, emails) and successfully engaging with diverse donor audiences
  • A track record of success in: Financial resource development, including executing fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gift solicitation
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the organization
  • Inspiring interest in diverse and pluralistic Jewish life

Responsibilities

  • Support and grow the number of donors and gifts to Hillel International, with a focus on institutional funders, including foundations and federations
  • Lead the creation of innovative engagement strategies and presentations to expand Hillel’s network and strengthen relationships with current donors. Collaborate with colleagues to develop new approaches that broaden awareness and understanding of Hillel, leading to increased engagement and support
  • Prepare senior leadership, including the CEO and Chief External Affairs Officer, for donor interactions by providing comprehensive background materials, determining investment levels, hosting briefings, and supporting communication efforts by creating marketing materials like pitch decks
  • Develop a strategic donor management process that identifies major gift prospects for core Hillel International support and program-specific funding opportunities, ensuring a seamless transition of donors to appropriate team members when necessary
  • Participate in the planning and execution of key Leadership Experiences, such as the Hillel Global Assembly and other signature events that engage stakeholders
  • Increase organizational visibility by staying informed on business and community affairs and attending networking events

  • A Master’s degree is preferred
