Summary

The Analytics Manager of Pricing at The RealReal will shape and expand the reporting suite, oversee day-to-day analytics, and collaborate with various teams to understand data needs. This role requires proficiency with BI software (e.g., Looker), data manipulation (e.g., SQL), strong data-driven decision making, excellent communication skills, team player mentality, exceptional time management, organizational skills, comfort with ambiguity, and 3+ years of management experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of proven success with data manipulation (can join/merge data sets with complex relationships) and visualizations (ideally Looker), including building tables and dashboards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with G Suite and building Gsheets
  • Knowledge of statistics and data science
  • Experience in retail or with retail math
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data-driven insights to non-technical audiences
  • Team player who is able to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity, navigating organizational complexities, and being flexible to respond to changing needs and priorities while supporting a direct report
  • 3+ years management experience; team development

Responsibilities

  • Design and create visually appealing and intuitive Looker dashboards and Gsheet reporting that communicates complex data insights to a broad audience
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Pricing, Planning, Data Science, etc) to understand the data needs and help translate them into meaningful datasets or visualizations
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure data accuracy and integrity within Looker; outline and spearhead efforts to append background datasets if a metric or data stream does not exist
  • Perform regular readouts on test performance (biweekly) in conjunction with the pricing team business owners; proactively evaluate pricing strategies and provide recommendations based on data insights
  • Surface testing KPIs/OKRs and provide creative data-driven solutions for more abstract or qualitative measures
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and recommend courses of action to drive sales, improve efficiency, and protect the consignor experience
  • Evaluate and create processes and tools in support of continuous improvement efforts
  • Create a team environment centered around collaboration, openness, and learning; oversee team development as well as provide guidance and training to team members on best practices
  • Be a positive role model for the team by fostering strong cross-functional relationships with key business partners (Merch, Planning, BSA, Data Science, CR/CS, etc)
  • Promote growth & development for direct report(s) through coaching, training & ongoing performance management

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years experience working with data engineering/data science teams is a plus
