Medical Assistant, Care Coordinator

You will play a vital role in connecting students and families with our care team, guiding them through their mental health journey. This remote, part-time position offers competitive hourly compensation ($30-35) and a flexible schedule. You will educate students, families, and school staff, manage scheduling, and coordinate care with clinicians and insurance providers. Requirements

• Required: Spanish fluency
• Experience (1 year) working within psychiatric practice or psychiatry level of care
• Experience coordinating directly with students and/or families and helping them feel welcome, respected, and informed
• Excellent organization, communication, multitasking and teamwork skills
• Ability to learn quickly and desire to join an early-stage, rapidly-growing organization

Responsibilities

• Educate students, families, and school staff on Cartwheel's psychiatric services
• Manage scheduling for Cartwheel's care team, working directly with Cartwheel's clinicians, students, and families
• Parse through clinician’s medical records/recent notes to answer questions from families regarding refills
• Outreach to insurance companies for medication prescribing issue and submitting prior authorizations
• Coordinate labs with PCP as well as sending ROIs and obtaining medical records

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work an afternoon and evening schedule
• Experience working in school settings
• Clinical license or certificate not required
