Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and integrity of Marathon’s mining site systems. They manage enterprise systems and applications, maintain network devices, conduct research on solutions, and assist in implementing and managing network architecture across multiple office locations. The individual must have strong technical skills, communication abilities, organizational skills, and be able to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the security, stability, and integrity of Marathon’s mining site systems
• Manages enterprise systems and applications including but not limited to VPN, Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, Perimeter 81
• Maintains network devices such as switches, routers and firewalls
• Plans and implements any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components and hardware
• Researches, analyzes, and monitors system activity and network efficiency, advising management of anomalies and security concerns
• Maintains and optimizes firewalls and LAN/WAN switching & routing at multiple office locations and maintain network logs
• Assists in the configures and supports network security tools to ensure the proper defenses are present for each network resource
• Document and diagram network topology. s systems procedures and architecture
• Maintains and supports the enterprise IDS/IPS solution as well as Advanced Malware Protection
• Liaises with vendors during installations and hardware performance issues as well as hardware and software warranties and equipment purchases
