Network Implementation Manager

Join Inteliquent as a Network Implementation Manager and leverage your expertise in telecommunications to oversee project management and provisioning within designated regions. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring timely order entry and provisioning of backbone and ILEC facilities. Requirements

• Have 10 years of experience working in the telecommunications industry in a switched network provisioning environment
• Complete ASR (Access Service Request) order processing, circuit design, cross-reference inventory management, and accurate system-based record keeping
• Work directly with Carrier Access Providers, IXC, ILEC, and Independent carriers as well as MMR providers, and re-sellers
• Have a strong understanding of Central Office infrastructure, colocation, carrier hotels, network architecture, transport interconnection, equipment, Ethernet, TDM & IP networks and services
• Have working knowledge of DS0, DS1, DS3, OC-X, Ethernet, IP Transit, GigE, IP, cables, fiber, 3x1, 1x0 DACs, vendor transport equipment and device interface
• Have general knowledge of switching technologies, routing and IP protocol
• Have a strong understanding of telecommunications OBF practices and terminologies, with an understanding of Telecordia coding and ASR ordering guidelines
• Be detailed orientated and able to work well under pressure

Responsibilities

• Perform all Project Management functions
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to the overall implementation and provisioning within their designated region(s)
• Be responsible for timely order entry and provisioning of all Backbone and ILEC facilities and trunk groups to achieve company goals
• Work with Network Planning & NetCost, Equipment Engineering and OPS to optimize the network, project manage grooms, outline requirements for more complex projects and expand Inteliquent footprint
• Make sure the Provisioner has the information needed to understand and enter all orders (GTS, Network, Grooms, Facility or any other special projects orders)
• Provide overall project management oversight for implementation & provisioning activities in assigned region(s)
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) including understanding and applying specific regional rules and requirements for vendors, LECs, IXCs under regional area(s) of responsibility
• Oversee the timely completion of all network order processing to fulfill key forecasts and meet target due dates
• Work with the Provisioning team to ensure timely completion of all orders, including managing your work queue to ensure critical dates are met
• Track spreadsheets to establish, augment, groom and disconnect customer trunk groups and facilities
• Be responsible for ILEC provisioning of OC-x, GigE, DS3, DS1 & DS0 circuits
• Provide detailed and accurate ordering and design information with overall coordination and problem resolution to successful test and turn-up of all circuits in a timely manner
• Work closely with Network Provisioners, Sales, Network Planning & Cost, Project Management, Switch Translations, and Operations, Equipment & Switch Engineering along ILEC, CLEC, Carriers Access Providers, and MMR providers as required
• Work with Planning, NetCost, EQENG for transport facilities, equipment and switch port utilization to determine when capacity is under or over utilized on any network element and works with appropriate personnel to resolve internal and or external capacity issues
• Resolve any obstacles quickly and effectively with appropriate internal and/or external personnel as required for issues that arise at times during the provisioning and/or test and turn up process of circuits; entering all required and accurate information in automated ordering, circuit design and inventory system
• Work with Network Planning & Cost to optimize network and for facility pricing, project manage grooms and/or network reconfigurations
• Maintain strong communication, documentation and data integrity for all circuit design and order information
