Summary

Join Recursion Pharmaceuticals as a Manager, Operations & Strategy Contractor to support our R&D organization and SVP of Clinical Development & Data Science. This 6-month contract role focuses on coordinating multiple workstreams under the β€˜ClinTech initiative’, driving technology, data, and AI-driven clinical development. You will collaborate with senior leadership, lead cross-functional teams, manage contracts, monitor KPIs, and recommend operational improvements. The ideal candidate possesses deep biotech expertise, strong scientific and business acumen, and proven leadership in operations within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Remote work is considered with regular on-site visits required. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative therapies and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • MS degree and 3+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on R&D orgs
  • Proven track record of successfully leading operations, including preclinical and clinical development, regulatory submissions, and process development
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external partners
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term execution with long-term planning
  • Highly collaborative and capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the TechBio industry landscape
  • Passionate about advancing innovative therapies to improve patient outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the SVP of Clinical Development & Data Science, their senior leadership team (SLT), and the ClinTech workstream leads to create strategic plans and execute near-term and longer-term plans
  • Serve as a key point of contact between the leadership team and other departments, facilitating clear communication and ensuring alignment across the organization
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, efficiency, and coordinated delivery of solutions across all development stages
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements to support R&D activities as needed
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to recommend operational improvements and strategic adjustments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leading organizational change initiatives, particularly in implementing new operational frameworks within biotech or pharmaceutical R&D environments
  • Experience in managing R&D budgets and financial forecasting, ensuring that development milestones are met within budget constraints
