Optimization Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience in optimization techniques and Google OR-Tools, with proficiency in Python and knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Requirements

• Strong experience in optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, mixed-integer programming) and Google OR-Tools
• Proficiency in Python, with experience using it for building and deploying optimization models
• Familiarity with scheduling and resource allocation problems, particularly in a SaaS environment
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and experience with integrating optimization models into production systems
• Experience with MySQL and relational databases is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Understanding of software development principles and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced scheduling optimization algorithms using Google OR-Tools
• Collaborate with the product and development teams to define optimization problems and implement solutions that meet business needs
• Build and maintain optimization models for scheduling and resource allocation
• Analyze and refine models to improve performance, scalability, and accuracy
• Ensure that optimization algorithms integrate seamlessly with the existing technology stack (Node.js, React, Python, MySQL, AWS)
• Conduct tests, debug, and validate optimization models to ensure they meet performance standards
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in mathematical optimization and OR-Tools capabilities, incorporating improvements into the solution
