Summary
Join Calm's growing Strategic Partnerships team as a Partnerships & Business Development Manager! This remote role, based in select US locations (San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, MN, or NYC), focuses on developing and managing strategic partnerships with major companies. You will identify, negotiate, and manage agreements, working cross-functionally with internal teams. Success requires proven partnership development experience, strong negotiation skills, and excellent communication. Requirements
- Proven Partnerships Development background
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with experience with financial modeling
- Ability to identify when it is right for Calm to say No to a partnership
- Experience owning the contract negotiation process, interpreting legal documents, negotiating terms and working with attorneys to complete agreements
- Strong communication & storytelling: proficient in executive communication internally and externally
- Keen sense for prioritization, both internally and externally with partners
- A self-starter that isnβt afraid to step in when needed
- You understand that collaboration and team play is key to success
- You are able to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment and across external and internal teams to deliver
- Results driven, creative thinker, willing to push the boundaries
- 5+ years of related experience in Business Development or Partner Management
- A self-starter who is able to proactively and independently drive progress across multiple stakeholder groups
- Passion for understanding our partnersβ businesses and finding ways to deliver win-win value
- Ability to present in both formal and informal settings
- Experience at, or working with, a creative agency
Responsibilities
- Identify, negotiate, manage prospective partnerships which drive positive-sum outcomes and renew strategic deals
- Identify and scope new opportunities to grow partnerships and unlock additional value for Calm, our partners and the consumers
- Build relationships and credibility within partner organizations
- Be the voice of the partner within Calm, and navigate both internal and external priorities, driving towards the best outcome
- Lead a virtual team of cross-functional experts (Legal, Marketing, Content, Product, etc) to deliver best-in-business partnership deals

- Experience with a range of partners, both small and large
- Experience working with a subscription business and/or distribution partnerships
- Signed and managed partnership deals
