Requirements
- 8+ years of Australian payroll experience, including in-house payroll processing and compliance
- Deep knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards
- Experience with payroll implementations, process optimization, and automation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining payroll concepts to various stakeholders
- Proficiency in different payroll software and Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute end-to-end payroll processing for Australia, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs
- Maintain compliance with the local labor laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Ensure proper calculations for statutory deductions, benefits, and remittances
- Conduct payroll reconciliations, audits, and compliance checks
- Stay updated on changes and implement necessary payroll adjustments
- Assist in onboarding and implementation of payroll solutions for Australian clients
- Advise clients on payroll best practices, configuration, and process optimization
- Troubleshoot payroll issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions
- Work closely with internal teams (HR, Finance, Implementation) to align payroll processes with business needs
- Identify inefficiencies in payroll operations and implement best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Support payroll automation and system enhancements, collaborating with IT and product teams
- Develop and maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and training materials
- Act as a trusted advisor for payroll-related inquiries from internal teams and clients
- Provide training sessions on Australian payroll regulations and system usage
- Work closely with external partners, including payroll vendors and government agencies
