Summary

Join our team as a PL SQL Developer and contribute to the development and enhancement of our systems. This remote position in Richmond, VA is a 12+ month contract. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining PL/SQL code, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with team members. Experience with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL programming is essential. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are also required. The role involves working on multiple projects simultaneously and providing off-hours support as needed. You will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Have professional experience working with Web based applications using Oracle as the backend
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL programming
  • Have strong designing, development, and troubleshooting skills
  • Have knowledge of object-oriented design concepts, XML, HTML, unix scripting, web scripting tools, Gitlab and CI/CD
  • Have knowledge of scheduling, data exchange interfaces, data analysis and troubleshooting of issues
  • Have working experience with data security, data auditing, vulnerability scanning and report generation
  • Have good oral and written communication skills
  • Have strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work on multiple projects/issues simultaneously including off hours support as required
  • Have the ability to assess the impact of software upgrades and other environmental changes
  • Be able to translate functional requirements, build relational models and transfer relational models into technical designs and application code
  • Have strong working experience with Oracle database (5 years)
  • Have strong PL/SQL and SQL experience including writing, tuning, enhancing and improving performance (5 years)
  • Have working experience with relational models and translating functional requirements and relational diagrams/data models to an application code (4 years)
  • Have knowledge of Object Oriented Design concepts, XML, UNIX scripting, bi-directional data interfaces (2 years)
  • Have experience with scheduling jobs to automate processes, implementing and creating data auditing and reporting functionalities (2 years)
  • Have experience with reviewing, analyzing, troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to performance, data integrity, data interfaces (2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and incorporate business processes to produce various reports, data extractions, interfaces, scheduling, data analysis, writing and tuning PL/SQL programs, improve performance
  • Develop and incorporate business processes to enhance systems
  • Write and modify PL/SQL code based on requirements, enhancements and production support with specific emphasis on the development and changes related to data bound queries, SQL tuning, PL/SQL enhancements to get improved performance
  • Develop data interfaces, data transfer, relational diagrams, scheduling and application code
  • Collaborate development activities with other team members
  • Create technical specifications and other documents as required
  • Develop and enhance PL/SQL code, tune SQL code to get better performance
  • Provide emergency release and production support
  • Analyze and write data exchange interfaces, job scheduling
  • Identify issues with the application data, analyze and apply fixes
  • Support change management including test steps; code changes to build the knowledge base
  • Developing relational data models and system designs as needed
  • Provide support for application implementation
  • Collaborate development and integration activities with other team members and stakeholders
  • Work with business groups, internal-external team to understand requirements and implementation
  • Review application server issues, analyze and provide resolution as requested

Preferred Qualifications

Have experience with Web Toolkit, Web services development and file handling, GitLab and CI/CD (2 years)
