Summary

Join Customer.io as a contract PMO Implementation Contractor to build and implement the company's project management infrastructure. You will partner with the Senior Operations Manager to execute the PM strategy, building a centralized workspace in Notion, creating project templates, documenting guidelines, and standardizing workflows. The role also involves supporting lightweight operational projects and acting as a project coordinator. This is a 3-6 month contract position with an hourly rate of $75-$100 USD. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in project operations, a proven ability to build scalable internal workspaces, and strong information architecture skills. Experience with Notion, Linear, and AI tools is preferred.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in project operations, business operations, or program/project management
  • Proven ability to build internal workspaces, processes, and systems that are user-friendly and scalable
  • Strong sense of information architecture and design—able to create Notion pages or dashboards that are easy to navigate and visually clear
  • Experience using project management tools like Notion, Linear, etc
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to increase efficiency (e.g., for documentation, summarization, content creation)
  • Detail-oriented with a systems mindset—you care about both execution and user experience
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves approach

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Operations Manager to execute on the defined PM strategy
  • Build and structure a centralized PM workspace (primarily in Notion) that is intuitive, well-organized, and scalable
  • Create repeatable project templates (briefs, trackers, status updates, retrospectives, etc.)
  • Document clear PM criteria and guidelines for requesting support
  • Standardize workflows and integrate tools like Linear to improve visibility and cross-team alignment
  • Roll out PM resources to teams in a way that promotes clarity, adoption, and efficiency
  • Help drive organizational understanding of how and when to engage with the PM
  • Support or lead lightweight, operational projects to keep momentum while PM resources are still scaling
  • Act as a project coordinator on select initiatives, applying the new PMO structure in real-time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting the launch of a PMO or internal operations function
  • Change management experience
