Summary
Join Worth Rises as their Policy Campaigns Manager and help lead national policy campaigns to dismantle the prison industry. Based on the East Coast, preferably New York City, you will report to the Director of Policy Campaigns & Government Affairs. Responsibilities include leading campaigns, building coalitions, conducting research, and advocating with decision-makers. You will also manage policy interns and volunteers. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience leading legislative campaigns and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. Requirements
- At least three years of experience leading legislative campaigns, including setting strategy, building and managing coalitions, drafting campaign materials, leading direct actions, and engaging digital advocacy tactics
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects at once with efficiency, skill, and calm
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted working relationships with partners and community members, which includes exhibiting reliability, delegating effectively, and practicing empathy
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Regular and disciplined practice of active listening, seeking clarification, and note taking
- Direct impact by the prison industry or experience working with directly impacted communities
- Working understanding of the prison industry or strong interest in learning
- Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Advocacy Officer and the Director of Policy Campaigns & Government Affairs in executing the organizationβs policy campaign strategy
- Lead and support policy campaigns, building coalitions, facilitating stakeholder meetings, conducting research, monitoring legislative calendars, developing collateral (e.g., letters, petitions, fact sheets, talking points, etc.), advocating with decision makers, planning direct actions, coordinating events, supporting communications, and tracking progress
- Work closely with organizational partners and community members, implementing base building strategies when appropriate, to advance policy goals through robust and ethical coalition management, which includes elevating the leadership and voices of directly impacted people
- Track and support the implementation of previous policy wins, sharing best practices with correctional agencies, supporting procurement processes, and collecting data and analyzing results
- Collaborate with the communications team on campaign-related activities to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of campaign messaging
- Manage policy interns, fellows, volunteers, and other staff as assigned
- Manage administrative needs and tasks for campaigns and related events
