Join Spexi, a company revolutionizing access to ultra-high-resolution geospatial imagery, as a full-time Demand-Side Product Manager. You will own the product strategy for how organizations request, access, and visualize aerial data through APIs, dashboards, and GIS-ready formats. This remote position, based in Vancouver, BC (with occasional in-office requirements), offers a competitive salary (CAD $115,000-$150,000) and excellent benefits. You will lead the product lifecycle for demand-side experiences, collaborate with various teams, and leverage data to inform roadmap decisions. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of product management experience with geospatial or imagery-based platforms and strong technical and analytical skills. Bonus qualifications include experience building developer portals and a background in geospatial technology.
Requirements
- 4+ years of product management experience, ideally with geospatial or imagery-based platforms, data products, or developer tooling
- Hands-on experience working with or building products around aerial imagery, orthomosaics, point clouds, or tiled map layers
- Experience delivering APIs or integrations used to access, render, or process geospatial data
- Strong understanding of APIs (RESTful, authentication methods, rate limits, developer documentation)
- Familiarity with GIS concepts and file types (GeoTIFF, shapefile, KML, etc.) or mapping tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Comfort with using Postman, Figma, Jira, Notion, or equivalent tools
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
- Empathy for users, especially technical users with specific data workflows
- Ability to simplify complex technical problems and align diverse stakeholders around solutions
Responsibilities
- Represent the voice of customers, such as insurance providers, construction firms, and government organizations
- Drive discovery efforts to understand customer needs, workflows, and technical environments
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to gather requirements and identify high-impact problems to solve
- Lead the product lifecycle for demand-side experiences, including ordering tools, search/discovery flows, and API access to imagery and metadata
- Prioritize features based on user impact, technical feasibility, and business value
- Develop clear product requirements and collaborate with designers and engineers throughout the development process
- Participate in and facilitate scrum agile ceremonies, ensuring Jira boards remain organized and up-to-date
- Ensure backlog reflects both short-term delivery goals and long-term product strategy
- Own the vision for our API offering: including authentication, data access, endpoints, and documentation
- Understand how enterprise users integrate with spatial data and build product experiences that align with GIS standards (e.g., GeoJSON, WMTS, WMS, shapefiles)
- Support the development of a self-serve developer portal and sandbox environment for external users
- Define success metrics and regularly analyze usage data to inform roadmap and iteration
- Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure metrics are accurate and actionable
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams on feature positioning, documentation, and training materials
- Support launch planning and customer onboarding to ensure smooth rollouts of new capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building developer portals or supporting external API integrations
- Background in geospatial technology, remote sensing, or location-based services
- Exposure to aerial imagery, drones, or Earth observation data
