Summary
Join Griffith University as a Project Manager and contribute to the transformation of Etheridge Shire into a central tourism hub along the Savannah Way. This 12-month, part-time position, primarily working remotely, involves managing and coordinating four tourism infrastructure developments aligned with the Etheridge Shire's 10-year Tourism Masterplan. You will provide strategic advice to the Project Lead, establish key partnerships, and ensure project activities are within budget and on schedule. This role requires extensive project management experience, particularly in government-funded infrastructure projects in regional and remote locations, and a deep understanding of the Queensland Local Government Act 2009 and the Local Government Regulation 2012.
Requirements
Extensive project management experience and management expertise, particularly in the completion of government-funded infrastructure projects in regional and remote locations, working with multiple diverse stakeholders including local government authorities
Responsibilities
- The Project Manager will manage and coordinate the four infrastructure developments included in the project
- As a Project Manager youโll play a key role in provision of strategic advice to the Project Lead to ensure successful project implementation, including reporting to key stakeholders
- You will also establish and manage key partnerships to support engagement activities and initiatives including frequent travel to Etheridge Shire to ensure project coordination
- Your project management experience will be critical to managing resources and ensuring project activities, activity summaries, and timelines are within budget and on schedule
- The role will provide high level policy and procedural advice in relation to the projectโs progress and compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and effective operational performance
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth understanding of the Queensland Local Government Act 2009 and the Local Government Regulation 2012, particularly in relation to tendering processes is desirable
