Requirements
- Have at least 4 years of proposal management experience (coordination, writing, editing, and production)
- Be a collaborative, cooperative, and strategic thinker who leads by example
- Have a clear history of building excellent proposal submissions and winning new business
- Have delivered examples of innovative process improvements to make the proposal creation process more efficient for team members
- Be a strong writer with the ability to thoughtfully edit othersโ writing, crafting a unified voice across multiple contributors
- Have a wide appreciation of the digital services landscape and a good understanding of human-centered design and product development methodologies
- Have a passion for or interest in improving government services for citizens and can foster ideas that innovate and reframe end-user expectations
- Want to actively support the overall culture of a busy, growing company
- Be a full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship)
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively lead the proposal process and develop compliant, competitive, and compelling proposals through effective collaboration with internal staff, external partners/teammates, consultants, and supporting vendors
- Perform detailed analysis of RFI/RFQ/RFP requirements
- Develop the proposal schedule, outlines, and compliance matrix
- Lead the proposal throughout the lifecycle from pre-RFP to proposal submission
- Refine content provided by section authors, if needed
- Draft and edit compliant templates and documents in response to RFIs, RFPs, sources sought, white papers, requests for capabilities statements, etc
- Lead non-traditional proposals such as oral presentations and technical challenges
- Issue and track data calls of teammates and supporting partners
- Coordinate with other involved departments to achieve proposal objectives in a timely manner and remain current on all amendments and modifications
- Prepare and lead efficient proposal kickoff meetings, color review meetings, stand-up calls, solutions sessions, etc
- Utilize the proposal library and conduct subject matter expert (SME) interviews to create the initial draft of the proposal, as needed
- Work with SMEs to build out content repositories to create efficiencies in proposal development
- Provide insight, leadership, guidance, and actively collaborate with writers on all proposal content
- Conduct compliance checks, facilitate proposal reviews, and provide related process training and guidance to proposal teams
- Study industry best practices on proposal writing and engage with company mentors to fine-tune the Coforma approach
- Collaborate closely with our MarComms and Virtual Design teams to understand and assure proposal alignment with Coformaโs messaging pillars, voice and tone, style, and style guides
- Document proposal debriefs, conduct proposal lessons learned, and implement actions to improve process efficiency and content improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Have Proposal Management Foundation and/or Practitioner certification from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or other proposal-related certification(s)
- Have working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its application to proposals, specifically compliance
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven experience writing, reviewing, and editing proposals and associated content
- Have excellent time management and the ability to manage overlapping projects
- Be a proven leader with demonstrated ability to lead teams in a matrixed environment
- Have proven proposal leadership skills on multiple, complex, competitive proposals
- Be a team player and team builder
- Be a self-starter; successful multi-tasker; highly organized; drives projects to completion
- Work well with all levels of the organization
- Have excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing/shifting priorities
