Summary

The consultant will work directly with the Senior Technical Researcher to draft applications for funding to promote inclusive education for the Deaf community in Kurdistan, Iraq. The role involves conducting a literature review related to Deaf education, creation of sign language dictionaries, and other related topics; contributing to drafting proposal(s) to create a sign language dictionary in partnership with the Deaf community in Kurdistan, Iraq; and other key outputs as agreed upon with the Senior Technical Researcher.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent required
• Ability to act as an interpreter for Deaf collaborators

Responsibilities

• Conduct a literature review related to Deaf education, creation of sign language dictionaries, and other related topics
• Contribute to drafting proposal(s) to create a sign language dictionary in partnership with the Deaf community in Kurdistan, Iraq
• Other key outputs as agreed upon with the Senior Technical Researcher

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Middle East and North Africa region, specifically Iraq is a plus
