Qlik Application Developer

Summary

This critical role supports the refinement of a centralized data environment for the Department of Defense, focusing on creating auditable financial transaction data and a common operating picture for leadership. You will ensure the right data reaches the right decision-makers, driving informed choices within the DoD. This position requires significant experience in data analytics, visualization, and database development, along with a strong understanding of ETL processes and data modeling. The ideal candidate will possess experience with various tools and technologies, including Qlik, SQL, Python, and potentially AWS. A Secret security clearance is mandatory.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; 0 years of experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
• Relational Database development (SQL) experience
• Experience with Python libraries for data manipulation
• Proficiency in creating scripts, calculated fields, and expressions to create dynamic dashboards
• Robust data model creation and management experience
• Experience creating and managing scheduled jobs and automation
• Data Visualization and business intelligence experience (Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI)
• Understanding of ETL with various disparate data sources and systems
• Active Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
• Participate in the planning of system and development deployment and ensure software compliance standards are met
• Evaluate the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and the characteristics of the overall system
• Document testing and maintenance of system corrections
• Develop dashboards using data analytics & visualization, emphasizing data-driven business intelligence
• Design User Interfaces (UI)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable development goals
• Connect to data sources and perform basic data transformation (creating calculated fields and simple expressions)
• Additional duties as assigned or required

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of Relational Database development (SQL) experience
• 5+ years of Data Visualization and business intelligence experience (Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI)
• Understanding of Advana DataBricks' Gold/Silver/Bronze data zones
• Experience with AWS workspace
• Domain knowledge of data sources and reports, and their stakeholders
• Experience working with a team of developers in an Agile environment (JIRA or similar)
• Ability to understand the transactional nature of the data being reviewed
• Experience with FMS
• Qlik Sense or DataBricks Certifications
• CSSLP Certification
• Security+ Certification
