Associate Principal, Revenue Operations

Summary

Join Airbnb's Platform Controlling team as a member to have broad exposure to various functions at the company, including Business Insights, Engineering, Product, Business Development & Finance Systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, excellent technical and communication skills, ability to manage staff and partners effectively across business functions.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in accounting with a Big 4 firm combined with industry experience at a large scale company (Tech industry and/or public company experience preferred)
• B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related discipline
• CPA certification or equivalent is strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition guidance
• Experience researching and documenting technical accounting matters under ASC 606
• Advanced Excel knowledge. SQL training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Manage areas of our platform controlling financial close including revenue, contra revenue, incentives and other balance sheet impacting items
• Development and review of routine and non-routine journal entries and adjustments
• Collaborate with technical product reviews to ensure proper revenue recognition, process documentation, and controls analysis
• Ensuring SOX compliance with key controls and accurate GAAP financial reporting, fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements
• Preparing and/or reviewing audit schedules in partnership with the technical accounting, financial reporting and other accounting teams
• Collaborating with finance systems and engineering teams on the design and implementation of revenue automation/recognition tools
• Assisting with various ad hoc projects as needed

Benefits

Pay Range: $125,000 — $150,000 USD
