Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, venture capital, corporate development, strategy, M&A, consulting, or related roles
  • Strong critical thinking, project management, analytical, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • High intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with senior executives
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience in the software industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and refine our corporate strategy by evaluating industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes
  • Work with leaders across Blackpoint to support both organic and inorganic growth strategies
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable insights for potential markets and customer segments
  • Strategic Partnerships: Negotiate and oversee alliances and partnerships with industry leaders, suppliers, and stakeholders to spur growth
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and evaluate business cases for new product lines and large-scale inorganic expansion
  • Project manage and apply analytical and decision support skills to lead ‘special projects’ that advance key strategic priorities for the company and/or specific businesses
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and assess investment opportunities, creating models to support decision-making
  • Trend Analysis: Identify and articulate emerging industry and technology trends that could impact Blackpoint’s business
  • Develop materials to support communication of the company’s strategy in executive forums, such as Board meetings

Although the role is remote, we have 2 offices in Columbia, Maryland and Denver, Colorado.  Candidates in those areas are preferred.

Role Mission

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the CFO and other executive team members to identify, assess, and execute strategic opportunities that align with Blackpoint’s vision and goals. A data-driven leader, you will use analytics and insights to evaluate strategic levers, identify growth opportunities, and spearhead initiatives that drive business success. You will support strategy development, planning, and execution for new business initiatives, partnerships, and capabilities, working across functions to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term objectives.

Your Challenge
