Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in California (CA) or New York (NY)
• Strong understanding of advertising, marketing, consumer protection and privacy laws
• Proven ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced business environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts, reviewing marketing content and assessing compliance with relevant advertising standards

Responsibilities

• Review marketing materials, contracts, online policies and advertising campaigns to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
• Provide strategic legal guidance on promoting products while minimizing exposure to potential legal risks
• Assist in adhering to a wide range of regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FTC guidelines, FDA regulations, NOP standards and relevant consumer protection laws
• Advise on privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other relevant privacy laws
• Help develop internal protocols, practices and procedures to avoid missteps in our marketing and advertising practices
• Draft, review and update relevant privacy policies, terms of service, and other related documents
• Conduct training sessions with Marketing and Legal Teams on advertising compliance, legal risks and how to spot and address issues proactively

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on advertising, marketing and/or privacy law
• Experience working with clients in industries that are heavily regulated, like e-commerce
• International experience
