Summary
Join SpryPoint as the first Director of Field Sales and play a critical role in developing and leading a maturing sales force within the Go-To-Market department. As a leader, you will directly manage and enhance the performance of Account Executives to ensure understanding and adherence to our sales processes, effective management of sales cycles of 12 months, and consistent attainment of sales quotas.
Requirements
- 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in sales management, specifically within utility technology software sales environments, with a proven track record in managing complex sales cycles and achieving revenue targets
- Strong understanding and application of sales process methodologies with experience in developing and implementing effective selling strategies and processes
- Excellent analytical skills to forecast sales and business metrics and to assess reports and performance indicators
- Exceptional mentoring and coaching skills to enhance the capabilities of direct reports
- High proficiency in CRM software, particularly Salesforce, to effectively track sales activities and manage team performance
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, capable of enforcing processes and motivating a sales team towards achieving business objectives
- Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution within teams, ensuring a cohesive and cooperative work environment
- Educational background in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of utility software focused on Customer Information Systems, Customer Self-Service, and payment systems
- An understanding of utility operations including - electric, water, wastewater, gas, broadband, and sanitation services
- Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding sales targets and quotas
- Strong analytic, organizational, and logic capabilities are a must
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of sales executives, focusing on their professional and industry knowledge development and adherence to a defined sales process to drive success in quota attainment
- Implement rigorous sales cycle management practices to minimize sales stage times at every phase of the process from prospecting to closure
- Monitor and drive quota attainment for each team member, ensuring sales executives meet or exceed their individual targets
- Develop and refine sales strategies and processes in collaboration with senior management to improve overall sales productivity
- Provide hands-on assistance, coaching and training to sales executives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a consistent approach to the sales process and cycle management
- Regularly review and analyze the sales pipeline and strategies, adjusting tactics and reallocating resources as necessary to maximize results
- Foster an environment of accountability and continuous improvement, encouraging and supporting sales team members in achieving their sales objectives
- Facilitate a collaborative team atmosphere that maintains high engagement and morale while ensuring alignment with corporate sales goals and practices
- Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate records of sales activities and to provide detailed reporting on sales progress and forecasts to senior management
- Conduct periodic performance reviews with direct reports, setting clear expectations and providing feedback on sales cycle management and quota achievement
- Design and execute enablement programs and training sessions to strengthen the team's skills in sales methodologies and best practices
- Continuously reinforce and refine sales methodologies to ensure team alignment and consistency in the sales approach
