Remote Director of Finance

Requirements

• Have previous leadership experience and strong emotional intelligence, including the ability to build strong professional partnerships
• Be an excellent communicator and collaborator across multiple functions and management levels
• Have 5+ years of experience and/or accounting experience with publicly listed entities or in a public accounting firm
• Possess strong leadership experience and emotional intelligence
• Have skilled knowledge of financial statement analysis and GAAP, corporate finance concepts, and reporting techniques
• Possess superior technical, quantitative and analytical skills. Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Have the ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
• Be proactive, independent, and self-motivated, with the initiative to research information, solve problems and get things done
• Be capable of using sound judgment and unquestionable integrity when managing confidential information
• Thrive in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented
• Have advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI) skills
• Be willing to travel approximately 5% of the time – primarily to Dallas or Nashville for team meetings

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the accounting operations and for financial public reporting for Quisitive as a Canadian-listed company including monitoring adherence to monthly and quarter-end financial close processes and procedures
• Drive process improvement, the design of financial systems, and the implementation, maintenance and review of internal controls
• Be responsible for monthly/quarterly/yearly close process and coordination
• Provide oversight for General Ledger, Treasury and financial reporting functions and staff
• Lead role in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls – key input into review of journal entries and complex accounting matters
• Prepare and accurately report and file public annual and quarterly financial reports
• Coordinate, direct, plan and execute the financial reporting component of the external audit and assume the primary liaison role with external independent auditors
• Lead role in technical accounting research efforts – analyze, research and conclude on new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of multiple professional service and recurring revenue streams and full period end close skill set applicable to a consulting practice
• Assist CFO and VP of Finance in implementing and tracking performance of corporate objectives
• Oversee foreign currency translation and multicurrency treasury operations
• Lead financial systems design and implementation. Consolidate financial systems from M&A activity into one platform as such needs arise

Preferred Qualifications

• Be located in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas or Nashville, TN
• Be a CPA
• Have experience in an IT professional services/consulting firm
• Have experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Solver, Workiva, Kantata and Shareworks
• Have Big 4 public accounting experience
