Remote Head of Legal

Summary

Join us as our Head of Legal for Spanish and Portuguese markets, leading legal strategy, drafting contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risk, and overseeing the legal department.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a legal role, ideally with a focus on technology, software development, or healthcare
• Solid knowledge and practical experience in data protection related matters is a must
• Familiarity with industry regulations (for example, medical devices) is a plus
• You’re comfortable advising on business transactions and have a strong understanding of contract law and commercial agreements
• Proven experience leading legal teams or departments, and a track record of advising senior leadership on complex legal matters
• You can translate legal jargon into plain language and provide practical advice that non-legal teams can easily understand
• You’re a proactive thinker who can anticipate legal issues and offer creative, business-friendly solutions
• Spanish and English are a MUST. Portuguese is a PLUS

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of our legal strategy, ensuring it supports business growth while protecting the company from risk
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including SaaS and other tech agreements, commercial agreements, partnership deals, vendor contracts, and licensing agreements
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and other industry-specific laws
• Identify and mitigate legal risks related to our products, services, and operations
• Provide legal advice on corporate governance, including board matters, corporate policies, and equity structuring
• Oversee and manage the legal department, including in-house counsel and external legal resources as needed
