Join our team as a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to oversee all payroll and benefits processes for a multi-state global team. This role will manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and develop procedures to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, HR or related field
- Minimum of 3 years doing US multi-state payroll processing
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations
- Experience with ADP and Deel is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll information to a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail oriented and analytical, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for team members regarding all payroll and benefits questions and concerns, while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Manage day to day operations of the payroll processing function, including reviewing and verifying payroll data and ensuring accuracy
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws, regulations and internal policies
- Develop and implement payroll procedures and controls to improve efficiency in payroll operations
- Collaborate with the People Ops and Finance team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all payroll runs including semi-monthly multi-state payroll processing
- Manage 1099 independent contractors/freelancer payments
- Oversee benefit enrollment and file feed maintenance
- Oversee 401K plan administration and payroll deductions
- Process and monitor payroll issues, including addressing tax notices
- Coordinate with People Ops to ensure maintenance of accurate personnel and payroll records
- Process off-cycle payrolls as needed for terminations, adjustments, commissions etc
- Review and handle distribution of annual W-2/1099/1095-C tax documentation in partnership with external accounting team
- Complete regular reporting for employee benefits: ACA, 1099, 401(K) audits, Workers Comp audits, and testing
- Ensure accuracy in all benefit vendor and carrier data management
- Support annual benefit-cost analysis with Director of People Operations
- Process and ensure submission of benefit enrollments, separation processes, and payroll changes related to benefits as needed
- Conduct benefit orientations for new employees to help them understand their benefits options
- Provide excellent customer service to team members and respond to payroll and benefits questions in a timely and professional manner
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the culture and vision of Constructor
