Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in UI design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in UI design preferably in a federal consulting or government environment
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a team of designers to deliver high-quality work
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of HTML/CSS and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze user needs and translate them into design solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to pass and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of our design strategy, including creating and maintaining design guidelines, component libraries, and pattern libraries
- Provide design leadership and guidance to the UI design team, ensuring that our design solutions are cohesive, consistent, and meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, developers, and project managers, to ensure that our design solutions are user-centered, accessible, and meet technical requirements
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business objectives, brand guidelines, and visual identity requirements, and ensure that our design solutions align with their goals
- Overseeing the creation of design deliverables, including UI components, layouts, interactions, and prototypes, and ensuring that designs are implemented according to specifications and quality standards
- Participating in business development activities, including proposal development and client presentations, and maintaining relationships with existing clients
- Contributing to the development of design strategies that drive innovation and competitive differentiation, and that help us expand our offerings and market presence in the federal space
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Design Systems, USWDS, and UI design, and share knowledge and insights with the team and clients
- Act as a design team leader on projects, working with project managers to ensure that design projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients
- Providing thought leadership on UI design trends and best practices, and advocating for the importance of user-centered design in all our design projects
