Join Axonius as a Revenue Accounting Manager and become a key player in our dynamic CFO organization. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting, you will be a primary resource for researching, resolving, and documenting technical revenue recognition issues. You will manage revenue accounting close processes, review contracts for revenue recognition, and perform month/quarter-end close tasks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial, as is executing internal controls and driving system and accounting projects. This highly visible role requires multiple years of accounting or audit experience, including SaaS revenue recognition under ASC 606, proficiency in Excel, and strong communication skills. A business or accounting degree is required, and a CPA is strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Multiple years of accounting or audit + accounting experience
- Industry experience with at least 2-3 years specifically related to revenue recognition for SaaS under ASC 606
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Fosters effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Is a self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and maintains a positive outlook
- Business or accounting degree required
Responsibilities
- Manage the revenue accounting close and invoicing-related processes
- Review revenue contracts and assess terms and conditions for appropriate revenue recognition under relevant accounting literature (ASC 606) and the Companyβs revenue recognition policies and prepare revenue recognition memos assessing non-standard terms
- Document and communicate clearly and effectively a summary of the non-standard terms in customer arrangements along with the revenue recognition implications per ASC 606 guidance for internal management and audit purposes
- Perform month/quarter-end close tasks associated with revenue recognition, including bookings to billings reconciliations, revenue recognition entries, deferred revenue reconciliations, and manual revenue journal entries for non-standard revenue deals
- Prepare and review quarterly revenue schedules and disclosures for internal and external reporting
- Prepare and review schedules/reports in support of external audits
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, sales, and revenue operations on contract negotiations to provide guidance on technical accounting, policy or process issues around revenue recognition
- Partner with Order-to-Cash cross-functional teams to ensure all fully executed agreements are correctly processed, invoiced, and accounted for
- Execute internal controls as well as design new process controls to improve the efficiency and scalability of billing and revenue recognition processes
- Drive ad hoc and business-critical revenue system and accounting projects through completion
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Netsuite ERP, Salesforce, Floqast
- Experience managing Netsuite ARM
- Partnership with Deal Desk, FP&A, and Legal
- Team management in a remote, multi-time zone environment
- Experience working in G-suite
