Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare operations
- Proven track record of leading and growing a billing and revenue cycle team
- In-depth knowledge of medical coding, billing, and reimbursement regulations and guidelines
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong project management and process improvement capabilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally
- Proficient in using revenue cycle management software and data analysis tools
Responsibilities
- Manage the full revenue cycle, including claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and collections
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all billing and reimbursement regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develop and document standardized billing and revenue cycle workflows and procedures
- Oversee the transition from our current third-party billing vendor to an in-house billing department
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of billing specialists and representatives
- Analyze key revenue cycle metrics and KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation, coding, and billing
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to medical billing and revenue cycle management
- Implement automation and technology solutions to streamline the revenue cycle process
- Serve as a point of contact for payers, auditors, and other external stakeholders as needed
- Prepare and present detailed reports on revenue cycle performance to leadership
