Summary

Join Seven Starling, a leading virtual provider of women's behavioral health services, as their first Revenue Cycle Manager. Oversee the entire revenue cycle management process, including benefits verification, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management. Develop and scale standardized billing workflows, partner with product and engineering teams on technology solutions, and manage and grow the in-house billing team. Analyze key metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation and billing. Serve as the subject matter expert on billing and revenue cycle regulations. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead this function at a fast-growing healthcare startup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in healthcare administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare operations
  • Strong managerial skills with a proven track record of leading and growing a billing and revenue cycle team
  • In-depth knowledge of medical coding, billing, and reimbursement regulations and guidelines, with added bonus if you have experience in behavioral health specifically
  • A systems thinker who is excited about building new processes and systems from scratch
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, including strong proficiency in google sheets or excel
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full revenue cycle, including verification of benefits, claim submission, claims queue and denial management, payment posting, resolving balances, patient queries, and AR
  • Develop, document, and scale standardized billing and revenue cycle workflows and procedures, adapting these as our organization grows
  • Partner with the product and engineering teams to scope, build, and implement new technology solutions for our internal billing system, Flock
  • Manage and grow our in-house billing team, including leading our talented Billing Coordinator
  • Bring on outside vendors when necessary to streamline the revenue cycle process
  • Analyze key revenue cycle metrics and KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation, coding, and billing
  • Collaborate with the network access team to ensure all contracts, fee schedules, enrollments, and automated rulesets are reflected correctly in Candid
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all billing and revenue cycle regulations, policies, and procedures, staying up to date with key industry trends and evolving requirements
  • Serve as a point of contact for payers, auditors, and other external stakeholders as needed
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on revenue cycle performance to leadership
