Join Chainguard's growing team as the SLED SE Manager, leading and developing a high-performing sales engineering team focused on the State, Local, and Education (SLED) market. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of the SLED business, driving strategies to increase brand awareness, pipeline, and revenue. This role requires a strong leadership background in sales engineering within the SLED sector, along with expertise in DevOps/DevSecOps, container technologies, and security policies like FedRAMP and NIST. You will mentor the team, collaborate with sales, and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process. Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in a Sales Engineering Leadership supporting SLED customers
- Minimum of 4+ years experience as a Sales Engineer
- Experience with accreditation and security policies like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or HIPAA
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: DevOps / DevSecOps
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, etc.)
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Container vulnerability scanning, analysis, and mitigation
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: AppSec
Responsibilities
- Partner with our Public Sector sales and marketing leadership to develop and implement strategies and account plans to grow brand awareness, grow pipeline, and grow revenue
- Recruit and hire SLED sales engineers
- Lead and manage the SLED sales engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, performance evaluation, and professional development opportunities
- Make alignment and coverage decisions to ensure the sales teamβs needs are met
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including Tech Wins/Losses, POV Time to Close, ARR
- Identify areas for staff improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements, value plays, and provide technical expertise during the sales process
- Stay current with industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies relevant to the SLED market
- Provide feedback to product management on customer requirements and market demands
- Assist in the creation of technical sales collateral, including presentations, datasheets, and whitepapers
- Help create and deliver materials to enable partners
