Summary

You will play a crucial role in establishing and managing internal accounting operations, partnering with an outsourced team initially. Responsibilities include month-end/year-end close processes, accounts receivable and payable management, global payroll, spend management, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 4-6+ years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills. A CPA is strongly preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from a 4-year university in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 4-6+ years of experience in accounting
  • You are highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with key financial tools like Quickbooks and Bill.com
  • You have a keen eye for detail and a strong focus on process, ensuring consistently high levels of accuracy and quality in your work
  • Data driven mindset with the ability to understand, analyze, and derive insights from data
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, and a strong bias for action
  • You are naturally curious and enjoy taking on new challenges
  • You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position

Responsibilities

  • Own month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, bank statement reconciliation, and adjustments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards like ASC 606
  • In the near term, you’ll partner with our outsourced accounting team and will play a major part in standing up internal accounting operations
  • Lead accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) operations with excellent customer service, owning invoicing, payment collections, escalations, and process automation
  • Own the global payroll process, including semi-monthly payroll and monthly commission payments
  • Manage medical & parental leave, 401k, and reimbursements
  • Monitor and manage company spend, ensuring alignment with expense policies and budgets and accurate accounting on our chart of accounts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, including sales tax, VAT, and nexus evaluations
  • Partner with external tax advisors on filings and regulatory updates
  • Help gather materials for audits, investor requests, and state and federal tax agencies as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience working in B2B SaaS
  • Youβ€˜re passionate about the healthcare and / or the medical device industry
  • Willingness to travel domestically 2-4x per year to company off-sites
