Summary
Join our team in the British Virgin Islands as a Sr. Accountant! Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a vital role in managing financial processes, preparing monthly financial statements, and overseeing fixed assets, inventory, and internal controls. This position demands expertise in international accounting standards, auditing, and proficiency with specific software systems. You will be responsible for financial reconciliations, journal adjustments, payroll and inventory management, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, along with at least five years of relevant experience. We offer a permanent work-from-home arrangement, along with various other benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting/financial management
- Strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and financial reporting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Clock PMS, and Lightspeed systems
- Experience in inventory management, fixed assets, and audit processes
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly revenue reconciliations across all departments, ensuring accuracy in bookings, transactions, and payment records
- Perform bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring alignment with bank statements and guest payments
- Review and adjust prepayment monthly journal entries to ensure precise recording of expenses and revenues
- Maintain and update depreciation schedules for fixed assets and ensure accurate monthly postings
- Oversee payroll reconciliation, verifying accurate recording of salaries, taxes, and benefits
- Assist with inventory valuation, including food, beverage, and retail inventory
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)
- Identify discrepancies, address areas of concern, and provide actionable insights
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to international accounting standards
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
